GoGrid unveils new firewall service with software-defined network architecture

GoGrid, a cloud infrastructure company, announced Thursday another extension to its software-defined networking (SDN) architecture with the availability of its new Firewall Services. With SDN, networking is no longer tied to a specific proprietary device, but is integrated via software. GoGrid has adopted this architecture for product offerings starting with Dynamic Load Balancers, introduced in January of this year, and now with its Firewall Service.

Fortinet's FortiGuard Threat Landscape Research Team finds that Bitcoin botnet, ZeroAccess top threats this quarter

Fortinet, provider of network security, announced on Wednesday findings of its FortiGuard threat landscape research for the period of January 1 - March 31, 2013. FortiGuard Labs observed that the Bitcoin mining botnet, ZeroAccess, was the number one threat this quarter as reported by FortiGate devices worldwide. The report also reveals analysis of the South Korea cyberattacks and two new Android adware variants that have climbed the watch list in the last 90 days.
