A Q&A with Egan Christensen, Dell’s Executive Director of Cloud Services Sales

To say that Dell has long been one of the most formidable computer systems providers in the industry is putting it mildly. To wit: Dell unveiled in 1986 the industry’s fastest performing PC, and in 1992, was included in Fortune Magazine’s list of the world’s 500 largest companies, making Michael Dell the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company ever.

Of course – as the saying goes – that was then and this is now. However, the ‘now’ seems to summon not only a groundbreaking history but also a pioneering future. Dell’s entrance into the cloud space – an admittedly crowded arena – is a clear testament to that.

Egan Christensen, the Executive Director of Cloud Services Sales at Dell, shared with me last week his thoughts on not only the key components to a successful cloud infrastructure but also Dell’s role in this ever-growing space.
