Rebit Inc., a provider of backup solutions, launched Wednesday SaveMe, its new line of backup drives and software.
Rebit’s SaveMe is a backup and recovery solution that starts working the minute it is installed, keeping PCs continuously protected from crashes, viruses or accidental file deletions. Like all Rebit products, it is continuous, complete, and easy to use. There are no buttons, no schedules, and no configurations. In the event of a catastrophe, users can recover individual files, entire folders, or restore the complete system to a point in time.
At the center of the SaveMe product line is Rebit’s SmartSave Personalization Technology. The SmartSave delivers complete backup and recovery, while providing additional storage space for personal files such as music, movies, podcasts and other data. While competing backup products continue to increase the amount of data stored until there is no more room, SmartSave uniquely grows and shrinks the amount of historical data, while never leaving a user’s system unprotected.
“Now consumers can easily add the specific content they want to their hard drives, and still rest easily knowing their entire operating system is protected,” commented Charlene Murphy, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Rebit. “With SaveMe’s new SmartSave Personalization Technology, consumers have much more flexibility.”
SaveMe backs up and recovers a maximum of six PCs. Portable backup drives are available in 250 GB (gigabytes), 320 GB, and 500 GB models. Desktop drives are available in 500 GB, 1 TB (terabytes) and 2 TB. SaveMe backup software is also available for use with the user’s own hard drive. For the value-consumer requiring single-PC backup and recovery, Rebit offers SaveMe Express backup software, which does not include SmartSave.
SaveMe backup drives and software CDs are available in the U.S. to computer retailers and resellers through ASI Computer Technologies and D&H Distributing, and to consumers through retailers including Amazon.com, Tiger Direct, and Rebit’s web site store.
Micro Center has chosen SaveMe as its backup solution for its 22 nationwide repair and service department locations, providing it as a service during upgrades and repairs.
“We are excited about providing the SaveMe products to our customers because they offer the same simplicity, quality, and complete backup and recovery for which Rebit is known,” commented Eric Schneider, director of service, Micro Center. “And we are confident the new SmartSave Personalization Technology will be a hit with our consumer customers, who will surely embrace the adaptability of adding movies and other data to their hard drives.”
Maxell Corporation of America also announced on Wednesday that its new GenPro product line, which is powered by Rebit’s SaveMe and SmartSave technologies.
“Incorporating Rebit’s SaveMe software into the GenPro drives delivers tremendous benefits to our customers,” said Cheryl Severini, senior marketing manager, Maxell Corporation of America. “It is now extremely convenient for consumers to safely and securely store large files on the go. We are confident that our customers will welcome GenPro’s ease-of-use and will be relieved to know that their entire operating systems can be recovered at any time.”
