Oct 9 — Based in Ireland, SolarWinds, a provider of network management software, recently launched operations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Based at its new European headquarters in Cork, Ireland, SolarWinds will provide multilingual sales, customer support, financial shared services, marketing and localization to its growing customer and partner base across Europe. SolarWinds has also appointed Jim Docherty as Vice President for International Sales to help strengthen its channel presence in EMEA and Asia Pacific (APAC).

Docherty has over 20 years experience in the IT industry including time as EMEA Vice President at NetIQ where he helped launch the product in Europe, growing the business to over $30 million annual turnover through the establishment of a strong sales channel. Docherty has also held senior management sales positions at Scalix, Microsoft and Computacenter.

Docherty will report directly to Michael S.
