Syncsort, a provider of high-performance data integration solutions, announced this week at Hadoop Summit 2012 that its DMExpress data integration software supports and is certified for Hortonworks Data Platform. The company also announced that it has officially joined the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program.

The Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), powered by Apache Hadoop, is a massively scalable open source platform for storing, processing and analyzing large volumes of data. The certification of Syncsort DMExpress on HDP makes Apache Hadoop easier to use and brings enterprise-class data integration technology to Hortonworks' distribution.

DMExpress is used by organizations worldwide to speed Big Data time-to-insight and reduce the total cost of ownership of Big Data warehousing and analytics environments.

Bringing high-performance, scalable data integration software to the open source Apache Hadoop-based software platform delivers greater value to customers to help accelerate Hadoop adoption. DMExpress simplifies and speeds the integration and movement of Big Data between the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and enterprise systems.

"Hortonworks Data Platform empowers enterprise-proven technology like Syncsort DMExpress with a comprehensive, next-generation data management infrastructure for enabling customers to glean new intelligence and derive greater business value from all types of data," said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of Business Development, Hortonworks. "The speed, efficiency and simplicity in which Syncsort DMExpress can move data in and out of Apache Hadoop not only streamlines processing, but accelerates Big Data time-to-insight to help customers make intelligent decisions and achieve competitive differentiation."

"Syncsort and Hortonworks share a common goal of making Apache Hadoop easier to use and deploy in conjunction with proven, enterprise-class Big Data technologies," said Mitch Seigle, vice president, Marketing and Product Management, Syncsort. "Together, Syncsort DMExpress and Hortonworks Data Platform form a powerful combination to help customers seamlessly maximize the business value and minimize the cost of their Hadoop deployments."
