Spare Backup introduces online backup service

Spare Backup Inc., a provider of automated, online backup applications for home users and small businesses, introduces last week its Spare Mobile service. The new service provides users with the benefits of real-time mobile access to digital content without the risk of lost data due to a malfunctioning device. With the launch of Spare Mobile, mobile phone users can remotely access photos, music and podcasts from their home computers anytime, anywhere, from their mobile device.

This anticipated service from Spare Backup will allow mobile device users real-time access to their PC-based digital photos, music, podcasts and content.

Spare Mobile, which will be released within the upcoming weeks in a limited beta form with a full version expected in the third quarter, will allow users to access, download, play and back up their digital content like photos, podcasts, videos, music, emails and more, anytime and anywhere through their Internet-enabled mobile device.

Spare Backup of Palm Desert, California helps consumers, small office/home office users, and small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) protect their computer data quickly, automatically and cost-effectively. The company's Spare Backup product is an automated online backup service that selects, secures and stores files without any user intervention, automatically backing up documents, email, music, photos and other PC files on a continuous basis or according to the schedule of the user's choice.

"Sixty-two percent of Americans are part of a mobile population that participates in digital activities away from home or work," said Cery Perle, CEO of Spare Backup. "As consumers increase the amount of digital content in their lives, they want to be able to access that content at any given time from any given location, with as few devices as possible. Spare Mobile provides an affordable and effortless solution to meet these demands by allowing users to play their music, share their photos and listen to their podcasts, all while using the same device."

Since its inception in 2003, Spare Backup has attracted a substantial client base for its backup and recovery solutions for both businesses and consumers.

"As consumers spend an increasing amount of time on-the-go, mobile devices are becoming vital to both our business and personal lives," continued Perle. "Moving into the mobility sector is the next logical step for us to respond to consumer demand and provide our customers with what they need, when they need it, and at a price they can afford."
