Dec 12 -- StorMagic, a fast-growing developer of storage management software, has announced details about its channel partner program, which targets resellers and system integrators supporting small and medium businesses (SMBs). StorMagic partners can now gain access to the recently launched StorMagic SM Series, an iSCSI-based Storage Area Network (SAN) solution designed specifically for SMBs to help them store, share, manage and protect data through a single, easy-to-use interface. The optional remote management feature gives end-users the option to outsource this function to resellers, while focusing on other business aspects. StorMagic distributes its products exclusively through indirect channels.
According to StorMagic, the company is offering channel partners a program that incorporates several areas where partners can provide value-add to the overall solution. These include the remote management capability that allows resellers to handle daily SAN management for customers who need it, and the option to do off-site backup hosting and storage of replicated data for added security and disaster recovery.
The StorMagic software allows users to logically consolidate all storage volumes into a single pool, making it easier to manage and adapt to their changing business needs. Capacity usage and throughput are monitored, and can be balanced and optimized by dynamically migrating volumes. Data protection is performed locally using RAID and snapshot technologies for backup, data retention, or compliance purposes. The StorMagic software supports Windows, as well as Novell NetWare, Linux (RedHat, SuSE), and Mac OS X.
