Dec 12 -- Entrigue Systems (www.scriptstart.com), a leader in managing user profile settings on physical, virtual and thin-client Windows desktops, today announced the availability of Script Start Community 2.0.
Script Start enables administrators to manage, configure and provision user settings on Windows desktops connected to any popular server OS such as Windows and Linux. The solution supports any method of Windows desktop delivery including virtual and physical PCs as well as thin-clients. Functionality includes the ability to map drives, install printers, configure Outlook settings and MAPI profiles, modify environment variables, adjust Internet proxy settings, configure RDP connections, publish applications via RDP, automatically customize client machines, and much more.
With newly added features, Script Start Community 2.0 offers a stand-alone product architecture that installs the management console to a local server vs. the Web hosted model that the company used previously with Script Start Standard. Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 support have also been added.
Script Start Community 2.0 is available at no charge under a GPLv3 license and can be downloaded at www.scriptstart.com. Entrigue plans to make Script Start Professional available within the next 30 days. Script Start Professional will include priority support, inventory reporting capabilities, one year of Software Assurance, upgrade assistance from previous versions of Script Start, priority product updates and access to future features. Script Start Professional will be priced at $990 per domain controller, and comes with the ability to manage all connected Windows Desktops in the same domain. Current Script Start customers will receive an upgrade to Script Start Professional at no charge.
