Canon and emFAST are integrating emFAST's FACSys Fax Messaging Gateway application with Canon's advanced Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) enabled imageRUNNER line of multifunction printers (MFPs).

Nokia selects Broadcom's 3G chipset
Nokia has selected Broadcom as a next generation 3G baseband, radio frequency (RF) and mixed signal chipset system supplier for worldwide markets. The two parties will cooperate on technology, including Nokia modem technology.

COPAN Systems secures $18.5 million in new round of funding
COPAN Systems has secured $18.5 million in new capital financing. The round was led by new investor Westbury Partners and includes participation from existing COPAN Systems investors Austin Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, Firstmark Capital and Credit Suisse. The funding will help expand the company's product development, sales, marketing and channel efforts globally and build on its success in the enterprise data storage market.

Zmanda launches cloud backup solution for SMBs
Zmanda launched Zmanda Cloud Backup (ZCB), a cost effective and easy-to-use solution for small-and-medium sized businesses (SMBs) that need data backup and disaster recovery for Microsoft Exchange and SQL Servers. ZCB is different and more cost-effective than other online backup solutions because it backs up the entire Windows environment to a public storage cloud such as the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).

Mellanox introduces I/O consolidation solution for 40Gb/s InfiniBand or 10 Gigabit Ethernet
Mellanox Technologies released its BridgeX, the industry's first gateway solution supporting Virtual Protocol Interconnect (VPI) technology. BridgeX, together with Mellanox ConnectX adapters and switch solutions, provides full end-to-end networking consolidation for building green data centers and an efficient high-performance clustering. BridgeX was designed to help data centers retain the value of legacy storage and Ethernet systems, while maximizing overall efficiency and guaranteeing a future-proof infrastructure.

Red Hat inks interoperability agreement with Microsoft for server virtualization platforms
February 9 -- Red Hat announced that it has signed reciprocal agreements with Microsoft Corporation to enable increased interoperability for the companies' virtualization platforms. Each company will join the other's virtualization validation/certification program and will provide coordinated technical support for their mutual server virtualization customers. The reciprocal validations will allow customers to deploy heterogeneous, virtualized Red Hat and Microsoft solutions with confidence.

Dell launches latest multi-touch screen capable tablet
Dell introduced a convertible tablet, the Latitude XT2, with multi-touch screen capabilities designed to enhance security, increase performance and extend battery life. The system starts at $2,399.
